When I start to waver, I think, “Okay, so I live in the freest country in the world, have never experienced a day of hunger, have no fear of rebel soldiers showing up in the middle of the night, have awesome family and friends, a trouble-free mini-van, work I love, a warm house in the winter….surely I can find some good to talk about;-)” But still, breaking that 24- hour barrier still is not easy;-)

Yes, I am the mom I want to be.
I am also NOT the mom I want to be.

I am okay with that. I am the best mom I am able to be. (And when two kids are squabbling over non-sense and I gash a bike pedal into my shin, I am not at my best! Nor is my vocabulary!)

Another good question, Who is the mom my kids see?
Because I am sure they are finding flaws I am completely unaware I possess. I hope they are also finding gifts in me that I don’t realize i have.
